I can't believe that he found the ring that my wife gave me - we had been at the beach in September, and had to leave, knowing that the ring was gone for good. Dave had searched for it as soon as he could, but couldn't find it. He kept my information....and in January he gave me a call, and found my ring. WOW! The guy is a magician! We were on vacation last week in Maui, we all went snorkeling at Black Rock and I thought it would be funny to goose my husband in the water..... When I goosed him, he turned around to see what/who it was, his solid platinum wedding ring slipped off (it costed more than mine with diamonds) in about 40 foot deep water.... It totally disappeared when it landed..... We were crushed that we couldn't dive that deep on our own..... and I felt bad for trying to be silly and causing the whole debackle...... Mike spent his whole tank of air looking where we thought the ring had dropped, he came back in to let us know he would go get his second tank and try some more...... The wave swells were getting stronger and I was getting worried...... He went back in and at the very end of his second tank, he found the ring!! It was over and more out than we thot it was, and in deeper water too.... And over a foot deep in the sand!!! Whew!!!! We both were so happy I think we both clobbered him with a group hug!!!!!! Dave was absolutely amazing. Not only did he calm our fears, he must have only been in the water 20 minutes when he held up his basket with my ring in it. "Honeymoons, saved" should be his slogan. He only charged us $60, and while we paid him double that, I wish we could have given him more. He is a genuinely great guy, and a talented master of the metal detector. My wedding ring arrived safe and sound in the mail yesterday. Thank you so much for your effort and skill. When it fell off my finger in the sea off Maui beach it was all I could do to stay upright in the surging swell and I soon lost my balance and my position. You came within a couple of hours of my phoning and promptly started to systematically work you way back and forth along a 20 by 60 yard stretch of inshore line for an hour and didn’t find it ( as I now know because I had not given you the correct limit of the search area.) I was in despair but thought that no one could have done more than you had already done when you had to leave. Unknown to me you returned a day or two later and found my wedding ring which I had had for thirty two years and not only that you then mailed it back to me in the UK. What a fantastic service! During the hour when I was watching you, lots of women came up and asked what I had lost and expressed great sympathy. Lots of men also came up and their question was always “What does he charge?” . When I explained hopw your charges worked they all thought it was very reasonable and indeed good basis for charging. But neither men nor women thought I had any hope of finding it. October 2008: We were in the last days of our honeymoon, when after a free jump off a rock near the waterfall at mile marker 11 along the Road to Hana, I came to the surface of the pond with no wedding ring! After failed attempts of trying to find it ourselves, we got back in the car and headed to our hotel. We weren't sure how to react - through the initial laughter, came tears of panic and sadness. On Valentine's day I lost my wedding ring in the water at Kam 3 Beach. I used my snorkel to look for it but had to stop after almost an hour --because I felt sick from getting thrown around in the surf.

I called the police to get a file number in order to make an insurance claim. The Police officer suggested that I call the guy that finds lost rings and to call back if my ring got found.

I was sad to lose my wedding ring/engagement ring that I have had for over 21 years especially since it was Valentine's Day. Dave called me that night and we arranged to meet the next morning at 8:00 a.m.

I worried that my ring would get washed up on the beach but Dave told me that the ring would sink to the bottom and be covered with a thin layer of sand. He assured me that if I knew where I lost the ring that he would have a good chance of finding it.

The next morning Dave was already talking to the lifeguards when I arrived at Kam 3 beach. I showed him where I lost my ring and explained that it was in the middle of the rocks towards the right side of the beach. He marked a line in the sand and entered the water. I walked away to give him some time to search and about one minute later he pointed at the metal scoop he was carrying. I thought he was joking, but I walked over and there was my ring!!!!

I lost my wedding ring while snorkeling at DT Fleming Beach while on vacation in Maui. I searched for a while, gave up and was leaving the beach. I stopped by the lifeguard station to report the loss in the hopes that I would get it back. The Lifeguard recommended Dave, telling me was honest and reliable. I will admit I was skeptical, and my wife had doubts that a search by Dave would be successful. Here is my story of my lost ring.
Our first day of vacation we went to Black Rock. I looking at the waves(not planning on going in), and end up getting rolled by the waves. After having a great time on our 10 day honeymoon on the Big Island and Maui, we decided to take a nice swim and snorkel in Napili Kai bay on our last day. We were viewing the beautiful fish and rocks, when all of sudden my wife starts panicking. She lost her engagement ring!!! However, I remember Dave telling me "If its out there I will find it", he did not bat an eye when he said that. Well we ended up leaving the next day a little sad about the ring. Nonetheless, Dave promised he would keep looking....

As my wife got off the plane at BWI from Maui, she received an email. It was from Dave, and he sent an email saying that he found the ring with a picture!!! We were floored! It was the most surprising, crazy and unbelievable thing that has ever happened to us. We instantly were overcame with joy.

Dave, we just want to say thank you! You a great guy, and keep your word. To anyone reading this, Dave is the real deal and will find your ring. We shared this story with our friends and family, and everyone is shocked that we found it.

"Laying on the beach during my honeymoon in Ka'anapali, I decided that doing some body-surfing sounded pretty amazing. I was in the water for maybe 10 minutes before I felt my wedding ring slip off my finger. The next day I contacted Dave to try to locate my lost ring. I got a hold of him but unfortunately he was on vacation at the time and unable to come out and search for my ring. Within a few days of returning home I received a phone call from him, Dave had returned from vacation and offered to go out and look for my ring, free of charge. He found my ring in the surf along with two other rings that day. I was so happy to get my ring back from him and was confident from the beginning in his professionalism and reliability."

I want to thank you again for finding my ring on my honeymoon in Maui (in the water),
just two days after my wedding.When I came out of the ocean and realized my ring was gone, I was devastated.
When I first reported it to my hotel, they recommended you, but I really didn't believe you could find it, thought it was
gone.

However, the next day, when I checked back at the beach at the small house where you rent towels,
they also recommended you. Even though it was a day later, I thought to myself "what do I have to lose?"

March 14, the day after my husband and I got married, we were at Kapalua Bay taking Trash the Dress pictures. While in and out of the water, my husband’s ring flew off his finger, and to say the least chaos and tears soon followed.
